Bucs Up Three Spots In National Poll to #22

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Winners of five straight, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were rewarded for their efforts on Tuesday as the Bucs moved up three spots to #22 in this week's NJCAA Top 25 Poll.

FSW earned a pair of wins last week, first hammering Palm Beach State 98-61 on the road Wednesday before returning to Suncoast Credit Union Arena for their home conference opener where they used a huge second half to run away from Hillsborough 92-70.

The Bucs now sit at 12-4 on the year and are unbeaten through their first two Citrus Conference contests.

Undefeated South Plains and Daytona State remained the top two teams for week seven while the rest of the top five saw a shuffle with Vincennes moving up to #3, Mineral Area up three spots to #4, and Trinity Valley sliding into the top five at #5.  The Bucs are one of five FCSAA squads in this week's rankings, joining the aforementioned #2 Daytona State Falcons, #7 Chipola, #8 Northwest Florida, and #21 Eastern Florida.

The Bucs begin a three game road trip on Wednesday when they make the drive to Winter Haven to take on Polk State in a 7 PM tip before going up the coast to St. Petersburg for a Saturday matinee affair.
