Bucs Draw 6 Seed For National Tournament, Headed to Hutch For Third Straight Year

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern State has only had a Men's Basketball program for four seasons.  Monday, the Buccaneers learned that for the third time in those four seasons, they would be headed back to the NJCAA National Tournament as in the organization's Selection Show, FSW was named as the #6 seed for next week's tournament, drawing a first round bye before taking on the winner of the Colby/Monroe first round game, in the second round Wednesday, March 18th  at 9 PM (EST). 

FSW will enter the tournament at 29-2 overall after going through the entire regular season without a single regulation loss.  The Bucs closed the regular season on a 22 game winning streak before being upended by eventual Region VIII Champion Gulf Coast State in the quarterfinals last Wednesday. 

The Bucs drew the #6 seed for the tournament, earning one of eight first round byes.  The nation's only remaining undefeated team, Pearl River, drew the top seed, followed by Indian Hills, Clarendon, Salt Lake, and John A. Logan in front of FSW at #6.  The Bucs will draw the winner of Tuesday's 11/22 game between Colby and Monroe, on Wednesday, March 18th at 9 PM (EST).
