Bucs Back In Top 20 After 3-1 Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers moved back into the NJCAA Top 20 on Monday, checking in at #16 after going 3-1 on the week and being ranked the #1 team in the FCSAA Coaches Poll this week.

The Bucs swung the bat to the tune of 49 runs in four games this week, earning a non-conference victory over St. Petersburg before taking two of three over Santa Fe to move to 28-14 overall on the year.  FSW continues to hold the top spot in the Citrus Conference standings with their 18-6 league record, one game in front of Indian River with nine games left to go in the conference slate.

The week seven poll had a lot of movement top to bottom as Iowa Western took over the top spot and was followed by Central Arizona, Johnson County, Gaston, and Georgia Highlands. FSW was one of four FCSAA squads in the poll led by Northwest Florida at #12 with Gulf Coast one spot behind the Bucs at #17 and Chipola rounding out the group at #20.

The Bucs are back in action on Tuesday when they host South Florida State in a non-conference contest beginning at 3 PM at Buccaneers Park before beginning a big three game series at home against defending National Champions Central Florida Thursday in Fort Myers, also at 3 PM.
