Earley Named FCSAA Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After leading the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a Citrus Conference sweep of the Daytona State Falcons, sophomore slugger Nate Earley has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week in a state release on Tuesday.

Earley hit an even .500 with multiple hits in all four FSW games on the week, clubbing a homer, three doubles, and driving in eight. Tuesday against Indian River he went 3-5 with a homer and three runs driven in for the Bucs. Thursday in the series opener against Daytona State he was 2-4 with a double and three RBIs in a 9-3 FSW victory. Saturday he had two hits and a double in both ends of the doubleheader for the Bucs against Daytona, driving in the game tying and game winning run in a 4-2 victory in the first game of the twinbill.

On the season Earley is hitting .370 while ranking in the top five in the state with 12 home runs and 43 RBIs.

Earley and the first place Bucs are back in action this afternoon in Clearwater when they take on the St. Petersburg Titans in non-conference action beginning at 5 PM at Jack Russell Stadium.
