Bucs Check In at #18 In Week Three Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers moved down one spot, but remained in the NJCAA Top 20 on Monday, checking in at #18 in the week three National Poll.

The Bucs moved to 18-8 on the year last week, dropping two out of three to Citrus Conference rival State College of Florida for their first conference series loss of the season.  It was all SCF in the opener on Thursday as the Manatees rolled to an 11-3 run rule win before the Bucs bounced back with an 11-5 win in game two Saturday to even the series at a game apiece. In the finale though, FSW couldn't hold a late lead, allowing SCF to score seven runs in the 7th inning to come away with a 13-7 win to take the series 2-1.

The week three poll saw Gulf Coast and Gaston hold their top two spots with Georgia Highlands, Pensacola, and Iowa Western rounding out the top five. Both FSW and Northwest Florida dropped one spot in the poll to give the FCSAA four teams in the top 20.

The Bucs are back in action Tuesday when they travel to Fort Pierce to take on Indian River in a non-conference game beginning at 5 PM.
