Bucs Ace Signs With 'Noles

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern freshman Landon O'Donnell has only been on campus for three months in Fort Myers, but his impact on the Baseball diamond for the Bucs has already been felt.  On National Signing Day earlier this month, the righthander joined 10 of his teammates by signing on the dotted line as he will be headed to Tallahassee after inking with Florida State University.

Highly touted as a prep, O'Donnell signed with the Bucs this summer after playing his senior season at A3 Academy in Bradenton.  With a fastball consistently in the mid to upper 90s, O'Donnell was ranked as one of the top 300 players nationwide as a senior and one of the top 100 right handed pitchers.  More recently, O'Donnell was named as the 4th best incoming freshman in the country at the junior college level for the upcoming season.

O'Donnell will join a storied Florida State program who has reached the College World Series 23 times with their last appearance coming during the 2019 season. The 'Noles will look to bounce back this season from a 23-31 campaign in 2023.

O'Donnell is one of 11 early signees for the Bucs this season joining Justin Thomas (Arkansas), Alex Walsh (Oklahoma State), Jared Davis (Virginia Tech), Isaac Upole (Pittsburgh), Victor Figueroa (Pittsburgh), Reyn Watson (Appalachian State), Nate Earley (Appalachian State), Logan O'Leary (UNC-Charlotte), Luca Danos (Loyola Marymount), and Jahir Perez (Southeastern).
