SANFORD, Fla.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers couldn't hold a late lead Saturday afternoon in Sanford, dropping a 5-4 contest to Seminole State to fall to 11-8 on the year.

Seminole got on the board first, pushing across a 1st inning run before picking up a solo home run in the 3rd to take a 2-0 lead at the end of three.

The Bucs cut the Raiders lead in half in the 4th when AJ Shaver led off the frame with a single, stole second, and scored on an RBI single from Derek WIlliams to make it 2-1.

After Tyler Kennedy dealt a scoreless bottom of the 4th for the Bucs, the offense was back at it again in the 5th as Jonnie Lopez drove in a run to tie the score at 2 before Shaver singled to left to bring home another and put FSW up 3-2.

The Bucs gave the run back in the bottom of the frame though as Seminole was able to score the equalizer without putting the ball in play as a walk, two stolen bases, and a wild pitch leveled things at 3.

The back and forth continued in the 6th as Williams cracked his seventh home run of the season on the first pitch of the frame to put the Bucs back up 4-3.

The Bucs bullpen couldn't hold the lead though as Seminole answered back with two in the bottom of the 6th to push back in front 5-4.

That was all she wrote for the Bucs as FSW managed just one baserunner over the final three frames as the Raiders held them off for a 5-4 win.

The Bucs outhit the Raiders 9-8 in the loss, getting multi-hit games from Shaver and Williams, who homered and drove in a pair. Jahir Perez took the loss on the mound to fall to 1-2 on the year, allowing two earned runs in just 1/3 of an inning out of the FSW bullpen.

FSW falls to 11-8 on the year with the loss while Seminole improves to 12-7.

The Bucs will look to get back on track on Tuesday when they travel to Clearwater to take on St. Petersburg in non-conference action.
