NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla.- The #13 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers remained red hot swinging the bats Friday afternoon in New Port Richey, scoring eight in the 2nd inning and adding nine more in the middle innings to blow out Pasco Hernando 18-6 in a seven inning run rule to close out their 2021 non-conference schedule.

The Bucs were giftwrapped their first run of the game, taking a 1-0 lead after one without even swinging the bat as Bobcat pitching walked three and hit another to allow the Bucs to parade around the bases to give FSW an early lead.

They started the 2nd with three more free passes, but this team earned the last part as Matthew Corpas unloaded on the Bucs third grand slam in the past two games to quickly give FSW a 5-0 advantage.  They weren't done there as Christian Lucio tripled and Jared Campbell doubled him home before twin brother Jordan Campbell blooped an RBI single to bring him in and make it 7-0.  Luis Tuero capped an eight run inning for the Bucs with a two run double to give FSW a 9-0 lead after an inning and a half.

Pasco got a run back in the bottom of the 2nd and scored another in the 4th to make it a 9-2 ballgame.

The Bucs added four runs in the 5th, getting one on a Pasco error and two more on a Jordon Campbell double to make it 12-2 before an RBI double from Warnner Rincones stretched it to 13-2 at the midway point of the contest.

The Bobcats made one last push to get back into the game in the bottom of the 5th scoring three times to make it a 13-5 game, but FSW answered right back with two more of their own in the top half of the 6th to take a 10 run lead at 15-5.

Another RBI knock from Jared Campbell in the 7th followed by a Pasco error to allow a third run to score made it 18-5 FSW at stretch time and Pasco couldn't get more than a lone run in the bottom half of the inning, kicking in the run rule in an 18-5 win for the Bucs.

The Bucs finished with 14 hits and took advantage of 15 Pasco walks in the win.  Jared Campbell reached base in all six plate appearances, going 3-3 with three walks, three RBIs, and four runs scored for FSW. Lucio was 3-4 with four runs scored himself while Jordan Campbell and Tuero each had two hits and two RBIs.  Alejandro Valliente picked up the win on the mound for the Bucs, going four innings, allowing three hits and three runs to improve to 2-0 on the year.

FSW improves to 31-10 on the year with the win while Pasco-Hernando falls to 22-19.

The Bucs jump back in to Suncoast Conference play on Saturday when they host Polk State to kick off the second half of the league slate at 1 PM at City of Palms Park in Downtown Fort Myers.
