MARIANNA, Fla.- Playing in their sixth game in six days, the #20 Florida SouthWestern State Baseball team finally ran out of gas on Sunday, dropping a 6-3 decision to #5 Chipola to fall to 6-4 on the year.

After a 1-2-3 top half of the 1st for FSW, the Indians jumped on the board first in the bottom half of the frame, plating a run on three hits to grab an early 1-0 lead.

Chipola added to their lead in the 2nd, taking advantage of an FSW error to score twice to extend their lead to 3-0.

The Bucs didn't manage their first hit of the game until the 5th when Tyler Fote lined to left, but they left two runners in scoring position at innings end to remain behind 3-0.

Chipola opened things up in the bottom of the 5th, getting a two run home run and later an RBI groundout to double their lead to 6-0.

FSW finally scratched the board in the 6th, scoring an unearned run on a sacrifice fly from Jose Marcano to make it 6-1.

It looked like the comeback kids might have been back at it again in the 8th as Joseph continued his huge weekend with a two run bomb to center to cut the Indian lead to 6-3, but that is all they would get and that is how the game would end with Chipola putting an end to the Bucs four game winning streak with a 6-3 victory.

The Bucs were outhit 10-4 in the loss with Joseph the only player to record more than one hit for FSW in the loss.  He finished 2-4 with a home run and 2 RBIs to wrap up the weekend with 9 hits and 6 RBIs in four contests.  Mason Adams took the loss on the mound for the Bucs, going 4 1/3 innings, allowing 8 hits and 6 runs to fall to 1-1 on the year.  The FSW bullpen tossed 3 2/3 scoreless to give the Bucs a chance late.

FSW falls to 6-4 on the year with the loss while Chipola improves to 8-1.

The Bucs will get a couple of well earned days off before returning to the field on Wednesday when they will take on Broward in a 5 PM first pitch in Davie.
