Bucs Dobyanski Nets FSW's First National Player of the Week Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Off to their best start in program history, the Florida SouthWestern State baseball team had another first occur on Wednesday as freshman outfielder Drake Dobyanski was named the NJCAA National Player of the Week, the first Buccaneer to receive the honors in program history.

Dobyanski went 4 for 6 with two home runs and nine RBI's on the week as the Bucs took on the two teams that played for a National Championship a year ago.  Friday against #2 Walters State, the Bucs freshman racked up four RBI's including the eventual game winner on a three run shot as FSW earned their first win over a ranked team in program history with a 9-6 win over the Senators.  Sunday he was the hero again, clubbing a grand slam in the 7th inning against #1 Chipola to break a 3-3 tie and eventually give the Bucs a 7-3 win over the Indians.

Dobyanski and the Bucs picked up a win over ASA Miami Wednesday night at City of Palms Park to improve to 8-0 on the year.  FSW will look to continue their hot start this weekend when they play a home and home with Indian River Friday and Saturday, Saturday's contest slated to begin at 1 PM in Fort Myers.
