Baziquetto-Allen Named NJCAA National Coach of the Year
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- For the second straight season, Florida SouthWestern Head Volleyball Coach Thais Baziquetto-Allen has been named the NJCAA Division I National Coach of the Year.

Baziquetto-Allen led her Buccaneers to their second consecutive NJCAA National Championship this season as FSW went 31-1, setting a new program record for wins in a season in the process.  The Bucs started the season with 13 straight sweeps and were undefeated through their first 23 matches.  They won their fourth straight Conference Championship for which Baziquetto-Allen was named the Citrus Conference Coach of the Year for the fourth year in a row while becoming just the second different program in FCSAA history to win back to back State Championships to earn her FCSAA Coach of the Year honors. The Bucs domination continued at the NJCAA National Tournament where FSW won each of their first three games in 3-0 sweeps before defeating in-state rivals Miami Dade 3-1 in the National Championship game for the second straight season to earn the title.  For her efforts in Hutchinson, Baziquetto-Allen was named the NJCAA National Tournament Coach of the Tournament for the second time.

Under Baziquetto-Allen's guidance, FSW has gone 58-2 the past two seasons, the best two year stretch for any NJCAA Division I program since the College of Southern Idaho dynasty in the mid 90s.

In just five years since starting the Buccaneers program Baziquetto-Allen has turned the Purple and Aqua into the NJCAA's premier program.  The Bucs are 119-24 (.832) under Baziquetto-Allen and have finished in the Top 10 Nationally in four straight seasons, the Top 5 in three straight, and won back to back National Championships in 2022 and 2023.

It hasn't just been success on the floor for the Bucs under Baziquetto-Allen though as coming into the year FSW brought home the AVCA Team Academic Award in each of it's first four seasons while three players have been named CSC Academic All-Americans, the only program in the country to boast that.

Baziquetto-Allen and the Bucs will take the rest of the Fall semester off before returning to the court this Spring for their scrimmage season.  Stay tuned to FSWBucs.com for more information.
