TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After earning All-Tournament Team honors at Florida SouthWestern's first two tournaments of the season and being named the Most Valuable Player of the Adventures in Paradise Battle at the Beach for the second straight season, Bucs sophomore Roberta Purashaj has been named the first FCSAA Setter of the Week of the 2023 season. 

 

Like her team, Purashaj is off to a hot start to the season, averaging 10.91 assists per set while quarterbacking her offense to a .341 team hitting percentage which is second best in the country.  She has put up five 30+ assist contests through eight games and has notched three double-doubles, second best on the team. 

 

This marks the fourth time during her career that Purashaj has been named the FCSAA Setter of the Week. 

 

Purashaj and the Bucs are 8-0 on the season and ranked #1 in the latest NJCAA National Poll. FSW has defeated five Top 20 ranked opponents in their first eight contests and three ranked in the Top 10.  

 

FSW is idle this week before taking the court September 6^th on the road in Tampa when they open Citrus Conference play against the Hillsborough Hawks.
