Bucs #19 in NJCAA  Preseason Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Coming off of their fourth straight Conference Championship, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers will start the season ranked #19 in the NJCAA Preseason Women's Basketball Poll as released by the National Office on Monday.

The Bucs were 13-6 last season and captured their fourth straight conference title, this time in the Southern Conference, going 6-3 and edging out Indian River on the final night of the regular season.  FSW returns a wealth of talent including three All-Conference performers from a season ago in Tyshonne Tollie, Tashun Bryson, and Ronaltha Marc, as well as three other players that saw significant minutes as freshman in 2020-2021. 

The poll is led by defending National Champions and the Bucs 2021 opening night opponent, Northwest Florida State, followed by Tyler, Chipola, Jones, and New Mexico to round out the top five. 

The Bucs kick off their 2021-2022 campaign on November 5th and 6th in the Florida Juco Shootout where they will take on the aforementioned Raiders of Northwest Florida on Friday followed by St. Petersburg on Saturday in St. Pete.  The Bucs home opener will be on Friday, November 12th against Santa Fe when they will unveil their 2020-2021 Southern Conference Championship banner in a pregame ceremony.
