Thomas Inks With Highlanders

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern sophomore Jaehshon Thomas will be headed to the Division I level next season after signing with the Highlanders of Radford University recently.

Thomas has been a key cog for the Bucs this season, starting all 10 games while leading FSW in scoring at 13.6 points per game and assists with 4.4 per night. A model of consistency, Thomas has scored in double figures in 9 of 10 contests including a career high 18 point effort against #4 Salt Lake in Suncoast Arena. He has dished out 6 or more assists four different times this year with the most recent coming in a near triple-double against Monroe when he finished with 9 helpers.

Also a standout student for the Bucs, Thomas was a member of both the Southern Conference and FCSAA All-Academic Teams last year as well as earning 2nd Team All-Academic honors from the NJCAA for his efforts.

Thomas will team up with former FSW star Justin Archer at Radford next season.  Archer and the Highlanders are currently 8-4 on the year and head into Saturday's game against Bucknell on a three game winning streak.  Archer is currently averaging 8.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per game for Radford while shooting an eye popping 74% from the field.

Thomas is the second Buc to sign at the Division I level this season joining teammate Dezdrick Lindsay who signed at Oregon earlier this season.

Thomas and the Bucs have two more games before the holiday break as they travel to the Panhandle to take on Gulf Coast State and Tallahassee Friday and Saturday in Florida's State Capitol.
