Bucs Climb Four Spots in Week 8 Rankings

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Following a pair of blowout wins in Southern Conference play last week, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have climbed four spots to #13 in the NJCAA Week 8 Poll.

The Bucs went 2-0 last week to improve to 13-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play on the year.  They put up a season high 121 points Wednesday in a high flying win over Miami Dade before going on the road to defeat State College of Florida by 18 on Saturday.

The Men's Basketball poll continued to be the most volatile of the NJCAA polls this week with just two teams holding their place in the rankings.  South Plains was one of the two as they stayed at #1 with Mineral Area, Odessa, John A. Logan, and Shelton State moving in behind them to round out the Top 5. FSW was the biggest week eight riser as they climbed four spots while Panola was on the other end of the stick, tumbling seven spots down.  The Bucs are one of four FCSAA teams in the week eight rankings with Tallahassee at #7, Chipola at #18, and Indian River at #22.

The Bucs have a busy week ahead of them as tonight they are on the road at Hillsborough before packing up and heading to New Port Richey to take on Pasco-Hernando Wednesday and wrapping up the week with a road trip to Palm Beach to begin the third round of Southern Conference play.
