Burch's Gem Earns Him National Pitcher of the Week Honors
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After throwing six shutout innings to lead the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to a win in the opening game of the Fort Myers Regional last week, FSW righthander Landen Burch has been named the NJCAA National Pitcher of the Week.

Burch dialed up his best outing of the season when the Bucs needed him the most, throwing six shutout innings, allowing just three hits and striking out eight to lead FSW over Santa Fe in the opening game of the 2024 postseason. Burch retired 10 in a row after allowing a pair of 1st inning singles and closed his outing out in style, striking out his seventh and eighth batters of the game in the 6th where he left with a 3-0 lead.

A 2nd Team All-Citrus Conference selection, Burch is 5-3 on the year, leading FSW with 79 strikeouts and a 3.34 ERA in 67 1/3 innings pitched.

Burch is just the second FSW pitcher in program history to bring home NJCAA National Pitcher of the Week honors, joining Brian Holiday who won the award late in the 2022 season.

Burch will take the ball again this weekend as FSW continues their postseason march when they take on #5 Northwest Florida State on Friday in the FCSAA State Tournament Final Four in Tampa.
