Makinen became the first player in FSW history to record three straight 50 assist games last week, following up a career high 50 assist performance last weekend against #16 Eastern Florida with 50 more in a win over #2 Miami Dade on Wednesday and finally a new career high 51 Saturday as the Bucs outlasted #18 Daytona State on the road 3-2. Makinen averaged 11.2 assists per set across nine sets played last week and also put up 1.4 digs per set including a career high tying 10 Saturday against Daytona in her first double-double of the 2025 season.

It is Makinen's fourth FCSAA Setter of the Week award this season, leading all players in the state. She was joined this week in the awards by teammate Letizia Okonofua who earned FCSAA Player of the Week honors.

Makinen and the Bucs return to the court Wednesday when they wrap up a four game road stand in Tampa as they take on Hillsborough in the two teams final conference meeting before the Hawks drop down to DII for the 2026 campaign.
