Bucs Unanimous #1 in Week 7 National Rankings

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- For the fourth consecutive week, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are ranked #1 in the NJCAA National Poll as released by the National Office Monday afternoon. The Bucs were the committee's unanimous pick in week seven after claiming a pair of Top 20 road wins over #5 Miami Dade and #19 Daytona State last week.

FSW extended their program best winning streak to 14 games last week, picking up three wins to cushion their lead in the Suncoast Conference standings.  Tuesday they won a thrilling 3-0 match on the road at #5 Miami Dade and followed that up with a sweep of Indian River at home Thursday and another road victory at #19 Daytona Saturday to improve to 17-2 overall and 12-0 in conference play on the year.

There was some shuffling in the week seven poll outside of the Bucs, Iowa Wester, and Blinn holding down the top three spots.  Salt Lake picked up a pair of big wins to jump up to #4 while red hot Butler enters the top five for the first time at #5.  Miami Dade's loss to the Bucs on Tuesday cost them a spot in the poll as they drop to #6 while fellow FCSAA squads Hillsborough and Daytona check in in back to back spots at #17 and #18 this week.

The Bucs return home to the friendly confines of Suncoast Credit Union Arena on Tuesday to take on Eastern Florida State in a 6 PM first serve before hitting the road to the aforementioned #17 ranked Hawks Thursday for the two teams final regular season meeting of the year in Tampa.
