JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers cruised to their sixth straight victory Tuesday afternoon in Jacksonville, suffocating the Florida State College at Jacksonville Blue Waves with their defense to run away with a 61-38 victory to improve to 6-1 on the year.

The first quarter was competitive with FSW leading by just five at 17-12 after 10 minutes of action. Jayla Murray continued her strong play for FSW with six first quarter points to lead the way for the Bucs.

The second was tough sledding for both sides as the Bucs managed just four field goals and 10 points, but held FSCJ to just seven to extend their lead to eight at the break.

The Bucs started finding their groove in the second half behind a pair of reserves as Tashun Bryson and Teniola Kuyinu came off the FSW bench and sparked them, helping the Purple and Aqua stretch their lead to 43-27 after three quarters of play.

FSW threw things in cruise control in the fourth and FSCJ continued to have no answer for the Bucs defensive attack as they ran away with it 61-38 for their sixth straight victory.

Kuyinu scored a career high 13 for FSW off the bench while Murray finished with 12 and Bryson 9 on 4-8 shooting.

FSW wins their sixth in a row to improve to 6-1 on the year while FSCJ remains winless at 0-6.

The Bucs are back in action next Tuesday when they take on Santa Fe in a 6 PM tip from Gainesville.
