DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The #14 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers won their fifth straight game Monday afternoon in Daytona Beach, going on the road and defeating DME Academy 72-53 to improve to 5-1 on the year.

The first half was tight between the two sides as FSW led by just four at the end of 10 minutes of action and by just three at the half at 32-29.  Jayla Murray had a big half for the Bucs, going for 13 points and 3 steals to put FSW out in front by three at the break.

The Bucs opened things up in the third quarter, turning up the pressure on the DME offense and holding them to just seven points as they pushed their lead to double digits at 50-36 after three quarters of play. Instead of salting the win away in the fourth, the Bucs stepped on the gas and raced DME to the finish line, putting up 22 points in the final 10 minutes of action to finish off a 72-53 win to move to 5-1 on the year.

The Bucs shot 49% from the field in the win, but turned it over 21 times to allow DME to remain within striking distance most of the afternoon.  Murray led FSW with 22 points while Violette Skipworth came off the bench for 12 points and 6 rebounds for the Bucs.
