FSW Climbs Two Spots in National Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After a month long stay at #14, the Florida SouthWestern State Women's Basketball team was on the move on Monday, jumping up two spots to #12 in the NJCAA National Poll.

Winners of 10 straight since the calendar flipped to 2020, the Bucs are 22-5 on the year and haven't lost since a late December defeat to now #7 Chipola.  To earn the jump this week, FSW downed #22 Eastern Florida 77-76 on Wednesday and then beat up on a 17 win St. Petersburg team 92-75 on Saturday in Suncoast Credit Union Arena to capture their third straight conference title.

South Plains, Trinity Valley, and Western Nebraska held the top three spots again this week, but there was some shuffling in the bottom half of the top 10 as Shelton State and Northwest Florida moved into the top five and Tyler jumped back into the top 10 at #10.  Four of the top 12 teams this week hail from the Sunshine State including #5 Northwest Florida, #7 Chipola, #8 Gulf Coast, and #12 FSW.

The Suncoast Conference Champion Buccaneers will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Hillsborough to take on the Hawks in a 5:30 tip.
