Bucs Move to #15 in Week Three Poll

Bucs Move to #15 in Week Three Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- After a fourth place finish in the nation's premier NJCAA Women's Basketball Tournament, the Midland WNIT, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers check in at #15 in the NJCAA Top 25 this week.

The Bucs 4-4 record in the early going is deceiving as three of their four losses have come to teams ranked in the top three of this week's poll, while all four of their defeats have come at the hands of squads in the top 15. Their four wins have all come against quality foes as well, downing Daytona State, Central Florida, and Hill, each of whom has six wins in the early going, as well as Georgia Highlands, who was ranked #21 when FSW knocked them off two weeks ago.

The top four teams in the poll remain unchanged and unbeaten with Gulf Coast continuing to hold the top spot, followed by South Plains, Trinity Valley, and Northwest Florida.  Including the Bucs at #15, the Sunshine State has five teams in the week three poll with Pensacola State joining the aforementioned teams as well as Chipola in the top 25.

FSW's schedule lightens over the next two weeks as they have lone dates with ASA Miami on Tuesday and Miami Dade next Wednesday before heading to the Florida Juco Shootout December 6-7 in Niceville.
