Vickers Inks with Georgia Southern

FORT MYERS, FLA.- After an All-Conference freshman season with the Suncoast Conference Champion Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, 6'2 forward Shondell Vickers has signed with NCAA Division I Georgia Southern to continue her playing career.

Vickers was the Bucs leading rebounder in 2018-19 at 7.7 per game while finishing third on the team in scoring at 13.3 per night.  She played in 32 of 34 contests for FSW, starting 25, while logging a team high 25.8 minutes per game.  She had five 20+ point scoring efforts for FSW as a rookie and notched eight double-doubles on the year including five in six games to begin the new year.

Vickers will look to help resurrect a Georgia Southern program who is coming off of a 7-22 campaign this past season.  She will enter into the fold with new Eagle coach Anita Howard who took over the program in March after three seasons at Columbus State, where she led the Cougars to a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament appearances.

With Vickers signing, the Bucs now have three players headed to the Division I level and five overall to the next level from this season's record breaking team.
