Bucs Trio Tabbed NJCAA All-American
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Three Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were honored by the NJCAA on Wednesday as Skylar Brennan, Leah Meyer, and Virginia Mambelli were named All-Americans, marking the fifth time in program history that the Bucs have had three players earn NJCAA All-American honors in the same season.

Leading the Bucs trio was sophomore outfielder Skylar Brennan who was a 1st Team All-American selection. Brennan led the Bucs with a .448 batting average this season, cracking 22 doubles and 7 home runs while creating 125 runs for FSW in 63 games with 74 scored and 51 driven in. Her 22 doubles and 74 runs scored both led the state of Florida and also both rank 2nd in FSW single season program history. The bigger the games got, the better Brennan played, earning MVP honors at the FCSAA Championships with five RBIs in the Bucs FCSAA Championship Game win, while also being named to the NJCAA World Series All-Tournament Team with 10 hits and 10 RBIs in six World Series games.

Earning 2nd Team All-American honors was staff ace Leah Meyer. Meyer had the top winning percentage in the country at .950 with a 19-1 record while pitching in 34 games for the Bucs. She started 28 games and had 14 complete games, posting a 1.94 ERA with 118 strikeouts in 137 1/3 innings pitched. Throwing in a variety of roles for the Bucs, she pitched out of the bullpen in each of FSW's three games at the FCSAA Championships while toeing the rubber four times at the NJCAA World Series with two starts and two relief appearances.

Picking up 3rd Team All-American accolades was first baseman Virginia Mambelli. Mambelli played in all 63 games for the Bucs, hitting .372 with 15 doubles and 6 home runs while driving in 54 for the second straight season. She had 17 multi-hit games on the year and drove in multiple runs 13 different times for the Bucs.

FSW has now had three or more All-Americans five times in their 10 years as a program and 24 NJCAA All-Americans in total.
