TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After hitting .500 with nine RBIs in four Florida SouthWestern wins last week, sophomore slugger Nicole Edmiaston has been named the FCSAA Player of the Week as announced by the State on Tuesday.
Edmiaston was 6-12 on the week, driving in nine runs and using her speed to steal a pair of bases in four Buccaneer wins. She started her week with a bang, going 3-3 with a home run and three RBIs in an 8-0 shutout win over Polk State. Saturday she provided half the Bucs offense in a sweep of #17 Eastern Florida, going 2-4 with four RBIs in the Bucs game one win before collecting two more RBIs in game two as the Bucs clinched their ninth straight Conference Championship.
On the season Edmiaston is hitting .387 with nine doubles, two home runs, and 38 RBIs while also going a perfect 6 for 6 in stolen base attempts.
Edmiaston and the Bucs wrap up the regular season Tuesday on the road in Clearwater to take on St. Petersburg before making the return trip next week to begin the FCSAA Championships.
