Wittenberg To Stay Home To Play For Eagles
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern outfielder McKenzie Wittenberg will remain close to home for the final three years of her academic and athletic career as the All-Conference honoree has signed to play at Florida Gulf Coast University next season.

Wittenberg was a 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State for the Bucs during their National Championship season in 2022, hitting .412 with 42 RBIs and 50 runs scored in 57 contests. After an outstanding regular season, she caught fire during the Bucs' National Championship run, collecting hits in each of FSW's final five games in the desert including three multi-hit games in route to the title.

The Fort Myers native will team back up with FSW teammate Baylee Haggard and look to take their winning ways to Estero for the Eagles as FGCU tries to bounce back from a down 2022 season that saw them go just 18-33 overall and 9-15 in ASUN Conference action.

Wittenberg is the fifth Buc to sign at the four year level this season joining Haggard (Florida Gulf Coast), Taylor Jensen (Texas-San Antonio), Charlotte Drijvers (Barry), and Sterre den Duijn (Lincoln Memorial).
