O'Donnell Named FCSAA Pitcher of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Tossing five innings and allowing just one hit last week, Florida SouthWestern State Softball pitcher Alyssa O'Donnell has been named the FCSAA Pitcher of the Week as announced by the league on Tuesday.

O'Donnell worked in two games for the Bucs last week, going four innings and striking out eight while allowing just one hit in a win over Miami Dade on Wednesday.  She followed that up with a scoreless frame, striking out two more in the Bucs victory over Lincoln Trail one day later.  On the week she spun five shutout innings, allowing just the one hit while striking out 10 and not walking a batter. 

She is the second FSW hurler to receive Pitcher of the Week honors this season after Haley Ellefson earned it on February 25th

On the year O'Donnell is 3-1 with a 2.74 ERA.  She has struck out 25 hitters in 23 innings pitched during her freshman campaign. 

O'Donnell and the Bucs will be back in action on Saturday at South Florida State where they will open up Suncoast Conference play with the Panthers in a single game beginning at 1 PM in Avon Park.
