CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Off to a 6-1 start to their season, the Florida SouthWestern State Softball team was ranked 3rd in the NJCAA's first regular season poll of 2020.
The Bucs sit at 6-1 after two weeks of action with a pair of wins over preseason top 20 ranked foes in Southern Idaho and Chattanooga State. Their only loss of the year came in extra innings to now, #10 Salt Lake.
As expected, there was quie a bit of movement from the preseason poll to the first regular season poll of the year. Seminole State (Ok) slides into the #1 spot while Central Florida takes over at #2 and Tyler and Chipola round out the top five. Fellow FCSAA member Indian River moved up six spots to #14 and Seminole State (Fl) makes the fifth team from the Sunshine State in the top 20 at #20.
The Bucs return to action on Tuesday when they travel across Alligator Alley to take on Miami Dade in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 1 PM.
