CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers retained their #1 ranking for the ninth straight week on Tuesday, leading a trio of Florida teams in the top five in the final NJCAA National rankings of the 2019 regular season.
The Bucs stay at #1 after taking the week off last week, they are followed in the week nine poll by Seminole State, Chipola, Wallace-Dothan, and Central Florida. The poll remains mostly unchanged from a week ago with no team moving up or down more than two spots this week.
FSW finished the regular season 52-1 and 19-1 in Suncoast Conference play to claim their fourth straight league title. They were ranked #1 in the NJCAA National Poll all nine weeks of the regular season.
The Bucs are back in action Thursday after a two week layoff as they open the 2019 FCSAA/Region VIII Tournament in Sanford. FSW will square off in round one with #19 Seminole State in game three of the day at 4 PM.
