Bucs Climb In National Rankings For Third Straight Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers climb up the NJCAA National Rankings continued on Tuesday as the 14-4 Bucs moved up two more spots to take over the #20 spot in the week nine poll.

The Bucs split a pair of games to move to 14-4 on the year last week, dropping an uncharacteristic 50-49 slugfest to Miami Dade on the road Wednesday before bouncing back with a dominating 107-80 win over State College of Florida on Saturday in which they topped their full game production from Wednesday in each half against the Manatees.  Two total points, is all that separates FSW from a 14 game winning streak over the past two months with the Bucs only losses coming on a desperation buzzer beater by #1 Chipola in mid-December and their one point loss to the Sharks on Wednesday.

With matching 21-0 records, Chipola and Southern Idaho remain 1-2 in the week nine poll with Odessa, Salt Lake, and Tallahassee, all with just one loss, following in behind to round out the top five. The big movers in the week nine rankings were Butler, who went all the way from outside the poll to the #18 spot while Northeastern Oklahoma's back to back losses last week drop them nine spots to #25 in this week's poll.

The Bucs have their first round conference bye on Wednesday before returning to the court on Saturday on the road at Hillsborough to wrap up the first stanza of Southern Conference action.
