Bucs Up Three Spots in Week 8 Top 25

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Riding a four game winning streak including a thrilling come from behind victory over rival Indian River on Saturday, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers moved up three spots to #22 in this week's NJCAA Top 25 poll.

The Bucs are 13-3 as the season hits it's midpoint with two of their three losses coming to teams ranked in the top five. FSW collected three more wins last week, the first two coming in blowout fashion against South Georgia Tech and North Florida Prep before a 91-89 nailbiter went their way on Saturday afternoon in Suncoast Arena.

The top of the poll remained mostly unchanged with Chipola, Southern Idaho, Odessa, and Salt Lake continuing to lead the way with Tallahassee jumping into the top five for the first time this season. FSW is one of five FCSAA teams ranked inside the Top 25 with Chipola at #1, Tallahassee at #5, Daytona State at #19, the Bucs at #22, and Northwest Florida State at #25.

The Bucs will look to extend their winning streak on Wednesday when they travel to Miami to take on a Miami Dade squad that has won eight of its last ten contests.  The Bucs and Sharks will tip off at 7:30 PM following the FSW/Miami Dade women's game at 5:30 PM.
