Bucs Stay at #2 in First Regular Season Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Picking up a win in their 2022-2023 season opener, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers remained the #2 team in the land on Monday as the NJCAA released it's first regular season Top 25 rankings of the season. 

The Bucs grinded out a 66-63 win in their opener on Saturday, getting past former Suncoast Conference rival St. Petersburg to begin the year 1-0. 

The Top 5 in the week one poll remained the same from the preseason, albeit with a little bit of a shakeup.  Northwest Florida State remained #1 with the Bucs following in at #2 and Kilgore, Salt Lake, and Indian Hills rounding out the Top 5.  FSW was one of five Florida squads in the Top 25, joined in the week one poll by Northwest Florida, #8 Chipola, #9 Tallahassee, and #20 Eastern Florida.

The Bucs will put their ranking on the line over the next week as they travel to Utah to take on Utah State Eastern, #19 Snow, and #4 Salt Lake Friday, Saturday, and Monday.
