Bucs Sharpshooter Signs With Panthers
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern State sharpshooter CJ Lane has signed with Eastern Illinois University. 
 
Lane was a 2nd Team All-Conference performer for the Bucs this season, averaging 9.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.  He played in all 23 games, drawing 16 starts, and helped FSW to an 18-5 record while draining a team high 47 three pointers at a clip of 38.5%. He scored in double figures 14 different times for the Bucs during his sophomore campaign including putting up a career high 21 in a win over Miami Dade in Suncoast Conference action. 
 
Eastern Illinois will be under new direction in 2021-2022 as Marty Simmons takes over after serving as an assistant at Clemson. The Panthers struggled to a 9-18 record this season while going 6-14 in Ohio Valley Conference action. 
 
Lane is the fourth FSW guard to sign an NCAA Division I NLI this season, joining Kario Oquendo (Georgia), Terry Roberts (Bradley), and Jaden Campbell (Samford). He is the 13th Division I signee from the Bucs 2019-2020 roster.
