Four Straight Weeks at #1 For FSW Men

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- For the second straight season, the Florida SouthWestern State Men's Basketball team closed the regular season as the top ranked team in the country as the Bucs remained #1 on Monday for the fourth straight week as announce by the NJCAA National Office.

FSW completed their third straight undefeated Suncoast Conference schedule on Saturday, knocking off Polk State on the road 81-69.  The Bucs have won 22 straight games with their last loss coming the day after Thanksgiving in overtime to Snow.  At 29-1 overall, FSW is one of just two teams nationally to collect 29 regular season victories this season.

The top four in the week 14 poll remained the same with FSW hanging onto the top spot and Pearl River, Ranger, and Indian Hills falling in behind.  Mineral Area, the nation's other 29 win squad, jumped into the #5 spot to close the regular season.  Clarendon and Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa jump three spots into the top 10 at #8 and #9 respectively, while Cowley tumbled 10 spots from #5 to #15 after back to back losses and Murray State dropped from the top 10 down to #22 after they lost twice last week.

FSW is idle until heading to Niceville to the FCSAA/Region VIII Tournament on Wednesday, March 4th where they will take on Gulf Coast State, who received votes towards the top 25 this week, in the first round at 3:00 (CST) from Raider Arena.
