Bucs Hold On To Top Spot in NJCAA Poll For Third Straight Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Capturing their 20th straight win Wednesday night against Hillsborough, the Florida SouthWestern State Men's Basketball team remained the #1 ranked team in the NJCAA National Poll for the third straight week on Monday.

The Bucs got 13 of 16 possible first place votes this week and 397 of a possible 400 points in the week 13 poll.  Following in behind FSW was once again Pearl River, Ranger, and Indian Hills, with Cowley making their first appearance in the top five at #5.  While there was some movement in the middle of the poll, 22 of the week 12 teams remained in the poll again this week.  Vincennes tumbled from #8 to #14 while Central Florida made the biggest leap from #22 to #18.

FSW is 27-1 on the year and has been relatively unchallenged since their only loss of the season in overtime to Snow, playing just three games decided by 10 or less points in the 20 game stretch. On the season, FSW has outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points per game and they have nearly kept that pace in conference play, going 10-0 in Suncoast Conference action while outscoring their opponents by 20.5 points per night.

The Bucs have a big week ahead to end the regular season as they will host State College of Florida at home on Wednesday on Sophomore Night in Suncoast Credit Union Arena before heading to Winter Haven for a tough matchup with Polk State on the road Saturday.
