Bucs Top Final NJCAA Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took care of business in a pair of games to close out the regular season this week and were rewarded by the NJCAA by keeping their #1 National Ranking for the fifth consecutive week on Tuesday.

The Bucs finished the regular season 28-1 with their only loss of the year coming to then #1 ranked Northwest Florida by four points in the Florida Juco Shootout.  FSW was one of just four teams nationally to win 28 games this season and the only one to do it with a single loss.  

FSW, Vincennes, Coffeyville, and Ranger remain the top four in the poll this week with John A. Logan sneaking back into the top five at #5. Sheridan tumbled from the #5 position down to #11 with a loss to Casper while Snow vaulted from #23 to #16 this week.  

The Bucs are one of three teams from the state of Florida in the top 10 with Northwest Florida and Chipola back to back at #8 and #9.  Eastern Florida continues their late season push as they move to #18 and Daytona State checked in at #21. 

FSW is back in action next Thursday, March 7th as they travel to Ocala for the quarterfinal round of the FCSAA/Region VIII Tournament.  The Bucs will square off against the #2 seed from the Southern Conference, which will be decided by weeks end.
