  • FSW Top 10 of 2018-19- #1, FSW’s 57 Game Winning Streak

    We have finally reached the top moment of the 2018-19 FSW Athletics year and what a year it was! We have counted down championships, and records, and firsts and today as we get to #1, we look back at arguably the most impressive streak for any school, at any level, in collegiate sports history.  Our #1 moment is the Bucs’ combined 57 game winning streak across their four sports.
  • FSW Top 10 of 2018-19- #3, Bucs Take Over NJCAA Rankings

    Having already touched on a number of firsts during our countdown of the top 10 moments in the 2018-19 FSW Athletic season, as we work our way to #3, we have another.  Our #3 moment is the Bucs taking over the NJCAA National rankings with both Men’s Basketball and Softball finishing the regular season ranked #1, Women’s Basketball climbing into the top 10 for the first time in program history, and Baseball receiving their first national ranking in program history this year.
  • FSW Top 10 of 2018-19- #6, Both Bucs Basketball Squads Go Dancing

    The FSW Men’s & Women’s Basketball teams rolled through their respective regular seasons, leaving a trail of destruction for their 2018-19 opponents.  Both teams went undefeated in conference play to capture league titles and both worked their ways to the top national rankings in program history. Unfortunately, the two both fell short to quality foes in the FCSAA State Tournament, which set up our #6 moments of the FSW Athletics year. 
  • FSW Top 10 of 2018-19- #7, FSW Goes 4 For 4 in Suncoast Titles/All-Americans

    2018-19 was a magical year for Florida SouthWestern Athletics in a number of ways, but the most impressive of feats was the well-roundedness of the Bucs success.  Our #7 accomplishment of the year highlights just that, as all four FSW teams captured Suncoast Conference Championships and each also sported an All-American, both firsts in the Bucs young history. 
  • Bucs a Cut Above the Rest in 2018-19

    The 2018-19 athletic season was a historic one for the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers.  The Bucs four squads each captured Suncoast Conference Championships and advanced to the FCSAA State Tournament, the only school in Florida to boast that, while FSW teams combined for a .865 overall winning percentage, easily the top mark in the Sunshine State and likely the highest nationwide.
  • Lopez Headed to the Steel City, Signs with Point Park

    Florida SouthWestern’s Fernando Lopez is headed North after the 6’6 forward signed with Point Park University in Pittsburgh on Monday in the Follett Hospitality Suite at Suncoast Credit Union Arena. 
  • 38 Bucs Bring Home Academic Awards For 2018-19

    Along with a historic year on the diamonds and the courts at Florida SouthWestern State this season, 38 Buccaneer student-athletes doubled down with excellent years in the classroom, earning Suncoast Conference, FCSAA, and NJCAA Academic Awards for the 2018-19 school year. 
  • Bucs Retool with Five Signees, Including a Pair of Division I Transfers

    On the heels of a 30-3 campaign and their second straight Suncoast Conference Championship, Florida SouthWestern State Head Coach Eric Murphy has announced the signing of five new student-athletes to bolster the Buccaneers roster for the 2019-20 season. 
  • Barnes Signs at Jacksonville

    After a First Team All-Conference season in his only year in Fort Myers, Florida SouthWestern State guard Destin Barnes has signed a Division I Letter of Intent to play at Jacksonville University next season. 
  • Bucs' Tyler Morman Signs with Wyoming

    Thursday in the Hospitality Suite at Suncoast Credit Union Arena, Florida SouthWestern State big man Tyler Morman signed on the dotted line, making his commitment to the University of Wyoming official.

    A pair of FSW standouts signed on the dotted line on Wednesday as guard Maddox Daniels inked with the University of Colorado and big man DeShawn Thomas made his commitment to Winthrop University official.

    Florida SouthWestern State sophomore Charles Manning Jr. put a bow on his incredible two year career with the Bucs on Monday as he was honored with one of the NJCAA’s highest awards by being named the program’s second NJCAA All-American.
  • Bucs Season Comes to Heartbreaking End in NJCAA Elite Elight

    The #5 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers fought to the bitter end Thursday night in the NJCAA National Tournament Quarterfinals against #4 Coffeyville, but the Bucs couldn’t overcome one of their coldest shooting nights of the season, missing a pair of shots in the closing seconds of overtime to fall 67-66 and end their season with a 5th place finish at the Big Dance. 
  • Bucs Hang On Late to Advance to National Tournament Quarterfinals

    Playing for the first time in 12 days, the #5 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers showed a little bit of rust Wednesday in their second round matchup at the NJCAA National Tournament against #12 Indian Hills, but the Bucs stepped on the gas for a 49 point second half, building a lead of as many as 20 before hanging on late to win 77-71 to advance to the round of eight on Thursday.

    After dominating the competition in the Sunshine State this season, Florida SouthWestern State guard Charles Manning Jr. has been named First Team All-State as announced by the league this week.

    While there was little question that the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were going to get one of the eight at large bids into the NJCAA National Tournament announced on Monday, it was certainly more comforting once they saw their name pop up on the screen in Suncoast Credit Union Arena, as they celebrated the moment with fans and fellow student-athletes alike.

  • Bucs Blow Late Lead, Fall to Northwest Florida in Region VIII Semifinals

    The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers led for 39 minutes and 56 seconds of Friday’s FCSAA/Region VIII Semifinal matchup with #8 Northwest Florida State, but couldn’t seal the deal late as the Raiders erased a 19 point second half FSW lead to stun the Bucs 69-68.
  • #1 FSW Flexes Muscles in Region VIII Quarters

    The #1 Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers had all of their pistons firing Thursday afternoon in the FCSAA/Region VIII Tournament Quarterfinals. The Bucs put up 57 points in route to a 20 point halftime lead before putting on a show in the second half to finish off a dominating 109-71 win over Indian River to advance to the final four on Friday.

    Following a 28-1 regular season and an undefeated run through the Suncoast Conference, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers had a league high seven players named to the Suncoast Conference All-Conference teams while Charles Manning Jr. was named the Player of the Year and Eric Murphy the league’s Coach of the Year.

    The Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers took care of business in a pair of games to close out the regular season this week and were rewarded by the NJCAA by keeping their #1 National Ranking for the fifth consecutive week on Tuesday.

    Honored before Saturday afternoon's game, the Florida SouthWestern State Men's Basketball class of 2019 has been one for the ages.  With a 78-65 win over visiting Polk State, the group wrapped up their two year, regular season career going a perfect 24-0 in Suncoast Conference play while defending their home court to the tune of a 35-0 record in two seasons.  
  • Bucs Weather Early Storm, Blowout SCF For Third Time

    When you are the #1 team in the country, like the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers have been for the past four weeks, you get everyone's best shot.  That happened again Wednesday night on the road in Bradenton as they took on State College of Florida-Manatee-Sarasota in a Suncoast Conference contest.  SCF came out swinging and played with the Bucs for the first 10 minutes of action, but FSW withstood the early barrage to take a 12 point lead into the break before ultimately delivering the knockout blow early in the second half to run away with a 91-59 win to improve to 27-1 on the year.  
  • FSW Remains #1 in NJCAA Poll

    For the fourth straight week the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers were ranked #1 in the NJCAA Top 25 poll released on Wednesday by the National Office. 
  • FSW State Tournament Fan Bus

    Both Bucs basketball teams are headed to the FCSAA tournament and you are invited to be there to cheer them on! FSW Athletics is once again chartering buses to Ocala for fans to join the teams and cheer them on at the tournament.  Buses will leave each day from the Suncoast Credit Union Arena parking lot at designated times and will return after the games to the arena.  The cost for each trip is $35 per person, payable by cash or check the day of the trip. There is also an admission fee of $10 per game or $25 for a tournament pass to be paid at the conference venue.  There must be a minimum of 25 people to sign up for each trip to happen.  For more information contact Joe Turner at 239-489-9432 or CLICK HERE for the trip flier. 
  • Florida SouthWestern Athletics On Unprecedented Roll

    Florida SouthWestern State Athletics is still in its infancy stages, but its successes are not.  In just their fourth year of a respawn of their athletic department, the Buccaneers are in the midst of a run that collegiate athletics at any level may have never seen before. Dating back to December 10th, across their four different sports (Baseball, Softball, Mens & Women’s Basketball), FSW has won 54 straight games. 
  • Seven in Double Figures as #1 FSW Routes Hillsborough

    The 2018-19 version of the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers won’t be known for the individual superstars or the players racking up postseason awards, but that is ok with them because they are 26-1.  It was another unselfish performance by the #1 ranked Bucs which saw seven different players score in double figures while no single player played more than 24 minutes.  FSW picked apart visiting Hillsborough to the tune of a 107-66 beat down for their 15th straight win to improve to 26-1 and a perfect 10-0 in Suncoast Conference play.

    Earning 397 points in the week 10 NJCAA Top 25 poll, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers remained the #1 team in the country for the third straight week as announced by the NJCAA Tuesday afternoon. 
  • #1 FSW Repeats As Suncoast Conference Champs

    For the second straight season, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers are kings of the Suncoast Conference after defeating St. Petersburg 77-66 Saturday afternoon to claim the outright conference title with their 25th win of the season.
