MIAMI, Fla.- Florida SouthWestern State sophomore Ronny Medina had a record breaking day for the Buccaneers on Wednesday, crushing a pair of grand slams and driving in a program record nine runs as #15 FSW hammered #8 Miami Dade 20-2 on the road to remain unbeaten on the season.

The Bucs jumped all over the Sharks from the first pitch as the first three batters for FSW singled and put up a run on Miami Dade before they recorded their first out.  After loading the bases with their fourth hit of the inning, Ronny Medina blasted a grand slam out to left, quickly giving the Bucs a 5-0 advantage.

The Bucs got their second long ball in as many innings with one out in the second as Kendry Noriega lifted off on his first of the year to left to make it 6-0.

FSW starter Grant Besser sparkled through his two inning start, striking out a pair in the 1st and punching out the side in the 2nd to keep the Bucs up 6-0 after two.

The Bucs were back at it in the 3rd as Noriega walked with the bases loaded to make it 8-0 and a groundout added another FSW run before a two run double from Paxton Tomaini blew it open to an 11-0 game.

Miami Dade finally got on the board in the bottom of the 3rd, but just a solo tally and it remained an 11-1 game through a quiet 4th.

The Bucs trend of crooked numbers in the odd numbered innings continued in the 5th when they loaded the bases with nobody out in front of Medina who smoked his second grand slam of the day out to center to make it a 16-1 contest.

FSW scored four more in the 8th, including RBI doubles from Medina and Tomaini before going on to finish off a 20-2 thrashing of the Sharks.

Medina finished 4-6 with 11 total bases in the win, ripping a double, and the two grand slams, while driving in an FSW record nine. Tomaini finished 2-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs while Noriega was 4-6 with four runs scored atop the order.

A strong outing by the Bucs pitching staff was overshadowed in the offensive explosion as Grant Besser earned the win and Holden Wade earned his first save as the two combined to go five shutout innings while striking out 10 and not walking a batter.

FSW improves to 5-0 on the year with the win while Miami Dade falls to 2-2 with both losses coming to the Bucs.

The Bucs will join 15 of the top teams in the country this weekend in the Emerald Coast as they travel to the Panhandle to take part in the Panama City Beach Juco Classic beginning Friday morning against Chattahoochee Valley.
