Melguizo-Mesa has begins her first year as Coordinator of Arena Events & Operations in 2022-2023. Her duties include managing arena and event operations and being part of the overall event services team. Melguizo-Mesa is responsible for scheduling the use of facilities for events, meetings, and conferences as well as working with Bucs Athletics for game day operations.
Being a part of the Bucs is not new to Melguizo-Mesa, as she received her Associate in Arts from FSW in 2019 and became involved with student engagement. She learned her love for FSW from a being part of the Resident Advising team in the LightHouse Common in 2018. After graduation, she worked as an Administrative Assistant in 2019 for local home improvement company and the FGCU recreational center as a Zumba instructor while obtaining her Bachelor's in Health Science from FGCU in 2021.
Melguizo-Mesa then worked as a Wellness Advisor for Cresco Labs in 2021, a growing alternative medicine industry. In her time there, she became part of the outreach and events team in the Bonita and Naples area. She was still close to FSW as she worked for the Event Service team in her free time. She became aware of the opportunity to return to the Bucs as she began her position as an Event Specialist and later stepped into her role as Coordinator. Melguizo-Mesa is currently enrolled in the FSW College Credit Certificate in Business Development and Entrepreneurship and plans on getting her Master of Science in Management and Leadership.
Initially born in Medellin, Colombia, Melguizo-Mesa grew up in Mudgee, Australia, where she stayed for most of her adolescent life. Melguizo-Mesa and her mother, Gloria, moved to America in 2014 to be closer to family. She now lives in Fort Myers with her cat Celena while visiting her family regularly in Colombia.
