Rossi Earns FCSAA Defensive Player of the Week Honors
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- For the first time this season and third time in her career, Florida SouthWestern libero Arianna Rossi has been named the FCSAA Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the state on Monday.

Rossi was automatic on the back line for the Bucs in a pair of Suncoast Conference wins last week, averaging 5.56 digs per set.  Thursday she helped the Bucs to a 3-0 sweep of #14 Hillsborough, pulling up 16 digs and dishing out 6 assists in front of her home crowd. Saturday she was on her game again, lighting up the scoreboard for 23 digs against a relentless Eastern Florida attack in a 3-1 FSW win on the road.

Rossi ranks second in the FCSAA with 4.92 digs per set on the season and is closing in on the FSW record for career digs with 653 over the past season and a half.

Rossi was joined on the Player of the Week podium this week by teammate Barbara Koehler who was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Rossi and the Bucs are scheduled to play at home on Saturday against Polk State, but those plans may be on hold due to Hurricane Ian encroaching on Southwest Florida.
