TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- After helping the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers to three wins last week and racking up double digit digs in each one of the victories, freshman libero Arianna Rossi has been named the FCSAA Defensive Player of the Week for week four of the 2021 season making her the third different Buc to earn the honor this season.

Rossi finished the week with 35 digs and 5 aces in three FSW matches.  Tuesday against #19 Daytona State she anchored the Bucs backline with 10 digs in a clean 3-0 sweep of the Falcons.  Thursday on the road at Eastern Florida she again notched 10 digs while also proving a menace at the service line with 3 aces in a 3-0 Buccaneer victory.  She closed out the week Saturday with 15 digs against #14 Hillsborough as the Bucs rolled to a key 3-1 Suncoast Conference victory over the Hawks.  In the three matches, Rossi and the Bucs held their opponents to a combined .059 hitting percentage.

On the season Rossi leads the state with 195 total digs while ranking 6th in digs per set with 3.90.

Rossi and the Bucs will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Gainesville to take on Santa Fe in a matinee affair with the Saints.
