Bucs Soar to #2 in NJCAA National Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Another week, another program best for the Florida SouthWestern State Volleyball team, as this week the Bucs moved up two spots to #2 in the NJCAA National Rankings, for the third straight week the highest ranking in their young program history.

The Bucs upped their record to 8-2 on the year with three wins last week, knocking off #2 Miami Dade in a thrilling five setter at Suncoast Credit Union Arena Tuesday before going on the road for wins over Indian River and State College of Florida Thursday and Saturday.  The win over the Sharks Tuesday was the second straight against the Nation's #2 ranked team for FSW after defeating, then, #2 Snow a week ago Saturday in Arizona.  The Bucs are one of just three teams Nationally to have three wins over Top 10 ranked opponents and five of FSW's eight wins this season have come against teams ranked in the Top 20.

Iowa Western solidified their position atop the rankings this week with a pair of wins over ranked opponents while FSW hops over #3 Blinn and Snow and Miami Dade round out the top five of the week three poll.  Four FCSAA teams remained in the poll this week with FSW and Miami Dade in the top five  and Hillsborough and Daytona, two of the Bucs opponents this week, checking in at #14 and #19 respectively.

FSW continues a tough early season schedule this week with two more battles vs. ranked foes as they take on #19 Daytona State Tuesday at home, in Fort Myers in a battle of the final two unbeatens in Suncoast Conference play, before hosting #14 Hillsborough in a Saturday matinee in Suncoast Arena, with a long road trip to Eastern Florida sandwiched inside the two on Thursday.
