CHARLOTTE, N.C.- In a season of historic firsts, the Florida SouthWestern State Volleyball team added another accomplishment to the list on Monday as they picked up their first vote for the NJCAA Top 20 Poll, making them one of six teams not in the top 20, but 'receiving votes' this week.

While the Bucs 12-7 overall record this season doesn't jump off the page, their resume of endeavors may.  FSW has wins over both #12 St. Petersburg and #13 Central Florida, making them one of a handful of teams to have two victories over top 15 ranked teams in their pockets this year.  And while no losses are good losses, FSW can take solace in the fact that all seven of their defeats this season have come at the hands of teams ranked inside the NJCAA's top 15 this week, including three in the top 5.  In fact, the combined record of the teams that have knocked off the Bucs this season is a cool 127-24, good for an .841 winning percentage.

As has been par for the court this season, the top 20 teams remained the same this week, albeit with some shuffling around.  Undefeated Polk State remains the unanimous #1 team in the country, followed by fellow undefeated Navarro at #2, Seward County at #3, Miami Dade at #4 and Utah's Snow College at #5.  Region VIII, which the Bucs belong to, was the lone region to have five teams ranked inside the top 20 this week and along with FSW and Daytona State, had seven total teams with top 20 votes in week seven.

FSW closes out their regular season schedule on Tuesday at home in Suncoast Credit Union Arena when they take on State College of Florida in a 6 PM first serve.  Prior to the game, the Bucs will honor their two graduating sophomores, Amy Barley and Marina Alonso, who will be playing their final contest at home at FSW.
