CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The NJCAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced on Tuesday that Florida SouthWestern guard Sheslanie Laureano has been named a 2020 NJCAA Women's Basketball All-Star.

The NJCAA Women's Basketball All-Star Team was constructed this season in lieu of what would have been the 13th annual NJCAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association All-Star event, which is unable to be played because of COVID-19.  The team was made up of the top 50 freshmen in the country across all levels of NJCAA Women's Basketball. Laureano was one of eight FCSAA players on the list and was the only player from the Suncoast Conference named to the team.

Laureano was a First Team All-Conference selection for the Bucs this season and was named a finalist for the World Exposure Freshman of the Year award after averaging 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game as a rookie in 2019-20.  She played in all 31 games, starting 30 of those contests and played a team high 27.1 minutes per game.  She scored in double figures in 25 of 31 contests, topping the top point mark five times.

Laureano earns the honor a season after Za'Nautica Downs and Nairimar Vargas-Reyes became the first to players in program history to represent the Bucs at the event.
