Lett Headed to South Alabama
FORT MYERS, Fla.- Following an All-Conference sophomore season with the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, forward Simone Lett has signed with the University of South Alabama to continue her athletic and academic career.

Lett averaged 8.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game for the Bucs this season, playing in 30 of 31 contests and drawing 22 starts. She scored in double figures on 14 occasions and had five double-doubles on the year, including one against defending National Champions Gulf Coast State early in the season when she went for 19 points and 12 rebounds against the Commodores. A force on the defensive end of the floor, Lett finished with a single season school record 56 blocked shots and closed her career with 95 swats, just three off the FSW all-time mark.  She was a Second Team All-Conference selection and earned All-Tournament Team honors at the FCSAA State Tournament.

Lett helped the Bucs to a pair of Suncoast Conference Championships and a 54-11 overall record in two seasons.  FSW earned its first two berths to the NJCAA National Tournament where they finished 9th in 2019 before seeing the 2020 tournament cancelled due to COVID-19.

South Alabama has averaged 21 wins per season over the last three years.  The Jaguars finished an even 16-16 this season and went 9-9 in Sun Belt Conference action.  They had collected a pair of wins in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament before its cancellation, needing just two more wins to reach their first NCAA Tournament since 1987.

Lett joins teammates Za'Nautica Downs (UNC-Wilmington) and Nairimar Vargas-Reyes (Stony Brook) as NCAA Division I signees from this year's Bucs squad.
