Downs Earns FCSAA All-State Honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The awards kept on coming for Florida SouthWestern State sophomore Za'Nautica Downs on Tuesday as the Bucs' leading scorer was named an FCSAA All-State selection. 

Downs finished fourth in the state in scoring this season, putting up 18.7 points per game for the Suncoast Conference Champion Buccaneers.  She shot 84% from the free throw line which was third best in the state and hit on 37% of her shots from downtown which ranked in the top 10 for players who took four or more threes per game this season.  When Downs put points up, she did it in bunches this season, she scored 25 or more points in 10 different games, including a school record 41 against Hillsborough early in conference play. 

Downs' awards this season now include FCSAA All-State, Suncoast Conference Player of the Year, First Team All-Suncoast, NJCAA National Player of the Week, and FCSAA Player of the Week. 

With her All-State selection, Downs will now be in consideration for All-American honors which will be released later this month.
