Bucs Headed Back to Lubbock; Draw 10 Seed For National Tournament

FORT MYERS, Fla.- For the second straight season, the Florida SouthWestern State Women's Basketball team had to play the waiting game to see if they were headed to the NJCAA National Tournament as an at large selection, but Monday, alongside fans and fellow students at Suncoast Credit Union Arena, the Buccaneers got the call and will be packing their bags over the weekend as they were announced as the #10 seed in the 24 team tournament where they will take on Oklahoma's Murray State in the first round of the tournament Tuesday at 5:15 PM (EST).

The Bucs won their third straight Suncoast Conference Championship this season and will head to the National Tournament at 24-7 overall after a nine point loss to #6 Gulf Coast State in the Region VIII Quarterfinals on Thursday. The Bucs played one of the tougher schedules of any team in the country in 2019-20 as the Massey Ratings had FSW's slate at #16 on the strength meter.  FSW posted wins over four ranked teams while all seven of FSW's losses have been to top 25 ranked teams with five of the six coming to teams ranked in the top 15.

Trinity Valley took the top overall seed in the tournament, followed by South Plains, Northwest Florida State, and Shelton State.  The winner of the FSW/Murray State game will take on 7th seeded Western Nebraska in the second round Wednesday at 5:15 (EST).
