FSW Up One Spot to #14 in NJCAA Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Cruising to a 74-51 win over ASA-Miami in non-conference action on Tuesday, the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers rose one spot in the NJCAA Week Five Rankings on Monday, jumping up to #14 as they head into a key two week stretch before the holiday break.

The Bucs improved to 5-4 on the year with the win over the Silver Storm.  Their record may not shine to the naked eye, but digging deeper, all four of FSW's losses have come to fellow top 20 ranked programs, all by single digits, with three of the four coming to Gulf Coast and Trinity Valley who are ranked #1 and #3 respectively again this week.

The top seven teams in the poll remain unchanged for week five with the aforementioned Gulf Coast State Commodores sticking at #1, South Plains at #2, Trinity Valley at #3, Northwest Florida State at #4, and Shelton State to round out the top five.  The Bucs will have an opportunity to make a December push as they will take on #7 Chipola, #21 Pensacola State, and 6-2 Miami Dade twice this month.

That stretch will start for the Bucs on Wednesday when they travel to Miami to take on Miami Dade in a big cross-conference matchup.  The Bucs and Sharks will tip off at 5:30 on Dade's Kendall campus.
