Bucs All-American Signs With Crosstown Eagles

FORT MYERS, Fla.- After an All-American season that included an NJCAA National Championship with the Florida SouthWestern State Buccaneers, sophomore ace Baylee Haggard will take her talents across I-75 next season as she has signed to play at Florida Gulf Coast University.

Haggard was electric for the Bucs this season, going 25-2 with a 1.40 ERA in 140 1/3 innings pitched.  Her 25 wins were 5th best in the NJCAA ranks in 2022 while her 1.40 ERA ranked 10th among pitchers with at least 100 innings pitched.  She was showered with postseason accolades, earning Suncoast Conference and FCSAA State Pitcher of the Year honors before ultimately being named a 1st Team NJCAA All-American last week.

She will look to help FGCU rebound from an 18-33 campaign in 2022 that saw them go 9-15 in ASUN Conference action.

She is the fifth Buccaneer to move on to play at FGCU, following Mikenzie Vaughn, Madison Johnson and Sarah Lawton and will team back up with 2022 FSW teammate McKenzie Wittenberg next season with the Eagles.

Haggard is the fourth Buc to sign at the four year level this season joining Wittenberg (Florida Gulf Coast), Charlotte Drijvers (Barry), and Sterre den Duijn (Lincoln Memorial).
