From Buc to Buc, Drijvers Headed to Barry

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Following a pair of All-Conference seasons leading to NJCAA National Championships, Florida SouthWestern State sophomore Charlotte Drijvers has found her home for the final two years of her career as she has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Buccaneers Barry University in Miami next season.

Drijvers played in 115 career games with the Bucs over the past three seasons, finishing her career with a .396 batting average and a .446 on base percentage.  Drijvers eclipsed the 100 hit mark as a Buc at the NJCAA National Tournament in May and logged 27 doubles, three homers, and 75 RBIs in three seasons at FSW.

As a sophomore in 2022, Drijvers helped the Bucs to their second straight NJCAA National Championship and a 56-6 record, hitting .427 with 15 doubles and 41 RBIs on the year.  She was named a 1st Team NFCA All-South Region, a 1st Team All-Suncoast Conference, and a 2nd Team FCSAA All-State selection for her efforts.  She earned All-Tournament honors at the NJCAA National Tournament, hitting .316 while playing sparkling defense at first base with just one error in 75 chances and being a part of five double plays on the week.

In her three seasons at FSW, Drijvers helped lead the Bucs to a 128-12 overall record and a perfect 39-0 record in Suncoast Conference play along with National Championships during the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

She will join a Barry program coming off of a 29-22 campaign that saw them go 16-14 in Sunshine State Conference action.  Drijvers will try to help steer the Buccaneers back to the NCAA Division II Tournament in which they reached three consecutive seasons from 2011 to 2013.

Drijvers is the fourth Buc to sign at the four year level this season joining Baylee Haggard and McKenzie Wittenberg (Florida Gulf Coast) and Sterre den Duijn (Lincoln Memorial).
